Welcome Home

I love the tree in our front yard.
And the mountains in the backyard.

Moon Jellies

It was Autism Family Night at the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, UT.
These were my favorites.

Wide Open

It's warm out this afternoon; the tulips' mouths are all open wide.
Sometimes, like today, I want to communicate--to connect with people. I don't want to hide or be small. I have things to say, things that matter.
I admire tulips.

Enjoying Spring

The spring flowers in our yard have been blooming for a while now. The bushes are covered in these pink flowers pictured left. Our tree in the front yard is starting to look like the tree of life again-- all covered in white blossoms. I love the hope of spring.

Miracle of Life

Yesterday, I remembered that Heavenly Father is very aware of me.
In the morning I prayed, "Please help me to be motivated to take care of myself."
Four hours later, I started blacking out. I ended up taking myself to a hospital emergency room and doing just that-- taking care of myself. Though I was told it could take all day, I had an MRI within less than an hour. Fortunately, my biggest fear, the thing I'd been worried about for almost a year, was not realized. I'm okay. I can plan for the future. Funny, I don't feel the least bit empty anymore.

Mostly Empty

I accidentally left this, right where it is in the picture, after my eggplant photo shoot. Then we had a couple of days of rain and some snow. Strangely, it looks like there's more water on the outside than on the inside. That fits my life too well right now. Stuff keeps happening to me, and I deal with it, but there's not a lot going on in the inside. Must change that.

Eggplant in an Apple Tree

I went with my Thai friend to the Ocean Market today. I fell in love with this Chinese eggplant and its beautiful purple skin.

Antelope Island Adventure

It was a good, quiet day on Antelope Island. We saw pelicans, buffalo, antelope, and a lone coyote.
I've been learning about poetic forms and attempting them. The following is a cinquain I wrote on our way home. It's sort of like a haiku, only with different numbers of required syllables: 2,4,6,8,2. Pretty fun.

Happy Easter!

We had a fun egg hunt today. This plastic football egg was in plain sight, just below eye level, and the hardest egg to find. Funny to see people walk right past it without a clue.

Spring Break

It was a perfect day to spend time outside with my children. My daughter was sure she didn't want me to take her picture while we were at the zoo.
But when we flew kites, she almost forgot I was even there.
