the big old gnarled trunk is like many of the old cherry trees around the tidal basin in DC. I hope you can visit us when they are in bloom, I think you would like to see that.
oh..next time you go to L park, please drive by our house at 1801 and make sure that it is still standing. The renters haven't said anything, but you never know for sure if it is still standing unless you see it with your own eyes or through someones' that you trust.
