White Dove

The doves in our neighborhood are usually grey (like the one on the right), so I was surprised to see a white bird on our back fence. It's the same white bird in all three pictures, but it sure looks different depending on how it stands or sits.
I like the idea of a symbol of peace hanging around my backyard.

  1. The Pope had one, but as he released it, it was attacked by a seagull. It is nice to see your dove at peace.

  2. Wow, that's sad about the seagull. Hopefully our vicious neighborhood magpies will leave this alone. Doves are pretty good at hiding when given the opportunity.

  3. Oooh neat. We have lots of mulch / gray colored doves. In Ohio we had a white squirrel. Some people around here say there are some white deer, but I haven't seen them.
