Skinny Water Balloons

My son and my nephew wondered what would happen if they took balloons meant for making animals and filled them with water instead. I didn't think it would work, but it did. They had a great time with them.

Elephant Toothpaste

If you look up this experiment online, it'll tell you that you to use 6% hydrogen peroxide that you buy from a salon supply store. Turns out, 3% also works well enough. I really didn't think it would, but was happy when it did. So was he.

Photo Fun

That was his idea for a photo pose. He preferred it to the one I suggested.
She was much more cooperative.

Sometimes the Answer is YES!

Remember that tender mercy moment a couple of weeks ago where my husband walked outside and told me he had a job interview? He did well at that interview. He did well at the second interview a week later (yesterday). And less than an hour ago, he received an offer for employment! We are feeling super blessed. Time to celebrate!

Fun

My 13-year-old was creating with chalk on the driveway at twilight last night.
She inspired me to join in with her. This is her work. Mine isn't pictured here.

I didn't want to come inside afterwards. It was a beautiful evening with a cool, peaceful breeze.
"Are you going to come in? Or am I going to have to drag you in?" she asked me.
I laughed.
I guess she thought someone might think it looked weird for me to be sitting on a chair (the one she dragged outside and stood on to take pictures) in the middle of the driveway alone in the dark.
I could have sat there for hours.
But I followed her in.

Next Time the DS Stays Home

We went to Wheeler Farm today. My favorite part was listening to a guy explain how to spin different kinds of fibers. My daughters liked the animals. My son? "Using my DS." And yes, he is wearing his pajamas.
